Affordably Green

Recycled materials have notoriously been seen as both "ugly" and "expensive." BottleStone is neither. Our goal is to mass produce products which are not only incredibly beautiful, but they are also very affordable.

One might think that recycled glass is free or very inexpensive – after all, it's "waste" isn't it?. However, the reality is that recycled raw materials are of real value and we pay for materials on a similar level as that for standard ceramic materials.

On a price per square foot basis, our goal is deliver our slabs at about the mid-range of granite and other natural stone and it is usually less expensive than engineered stone and most of our green competitors. However, the real pricing test is the installed cost. Our goal is for BottleStone to have an installed cost of $80/sf or less….but unfortunately, we're just a fraction of that overall cost. Shipping, taxes, fabrication and installation are all variables over which we have very little control. Fabricating hard surface material is often 50% or more of your "job." We try to reduce that cost by making sizes which have very little waste, require less fabrication, and are relatively easy to fabricate (certainly easier than natural stone and many of our green competitors).

BottleStone has two tiers of pricing: standard colors and then special colors (cobalt, black, etc.). This is tied to very expensive colored stains which we add to our formula to produce these colors.
